Up 'N' Down Chasm is a large pit located within Big Tree Forest, deep in Never Land featured in the Disney Junior animated series, Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
Role in the series[]
Up 'N' Down Chasm first appeared in the episode "Huddle Up!". Jake and his crew are playing football to improve their skills in teamwork. Captain Hook thinks that the football is magic and possess the powers to make his bumbling crew work better to find treasure and steal it from the young pirate team. As Hook and his crew try to escape they end up heading into the section of Big Tree Forest leading into Up 'N' Down Chasm. Captain Hook orders his crew to get him across the other side then throw the football to him but the ball becomes hopeless stuck upon the floating land in the middle much to Hook's fury.Mr. Smee with the help of Sharky and Bones manage to retrieve both the ball and reach the other side but end up falling on Hook giving Jake and his crew time to reach Big Tree Forest and later Up 'N' Down Chasm. Jake and his friends were briefly puzzled how they could get across but soon came up with the idea to use the giant acorns from Big Tree Forest to make the floating land formation-level so they could get safely across.
