The Sorcerer is a minor character that is mentioned in the Disney Junior animated series, Jake and the Never Land Pirates. He is an evil spell-caster of great power that cursed Captain Chen long ago.

History[]
Captain Chen was once hired by the sorcerer and was tasked with guarding his treasure. But soon, Chen's greed played on him and he stole the treasure for himself. The Sorcerer soon became aware of Chen's actions and punished him by turning him into a golden dragon. Chen soon returned the treasure, but it did not make a difference in what was done. However, the sorcerer showed some form of mercy by giving Chen a magic necklace that would prevent him from changing into the golden dragon, as long as he wears it.
As revealed by Captain Chen in the episode "The Forbidden City," the city was once prosperous and full of life until the Sorcerer arrived and brought great destruction and chaos to the city, leaving it uninhabited. The city is now guarded by an army of stone statues that prevent trespassers from entering the city and watch after the Sorcerer's enchanted treasure.
Personality[]
The Sorcerer is said to be very arrogant, egotistical and vain, boasting his power and lording his magic over everyone while thinking very little of the feelings of others. However, the sorcerer showed he can be merciful, when he gave Captain Chen the Dragon Tooth Necklace, preventing him from changing into the golden dragon as long as he wears it.
Powers and Abilities[]
The Sorcerer has showed a wide variety of powers, and is generally hailed as being the most powerful sorcerer in the Never World by Captain Chen.
Role in the series[]
The Sorcerer is first mentioned in the episode "The Golden Dragon". Once the dragon chases Jake into a cave on Never Land, it soon disappears and Chen reappears lying on a rock. Captain Jake come to Chen's aid, and when he wake up, he is greeted by Jake and his crew. Chen was feeling tired and Jake figured he needed to rest, to which Chen agreed that is what he needed. Once back aboard Bucky, Jake and his crew began to realize that Chen and the golden dragon are one and the same. Chen told his new friends of how he was cursed by the Sorcerer for his past mistakes, and the necklace is the only thing that can prevent the dragon from attacking.
The Sorcerer is mentioned again in the episode "The Forbidden City". Chen comes to asks Captain Jake to help him find the Forbidden City, which has a cure for his dragon curse. While journeying through the Forbidden City, Chen and Jake had to face various trials in order to find a means to return himself to normal, but Captain Hook touches the enchanted sorcerer's treasure, turning himself into a dragon. But with the assistance of Chen and Jake, they manage to capture Hook. In order to spare Never Land from Hook's fiery wrath, Chen gives up his only means to break the dragon curse and gives it to Hook. Chen is last seen thanking Jake and his crew before leaving Pirate Island to find another means of breaking the curse.
