Plot
Jake spots something coming from across the Never Sea and his crew head to shore to find out that it is a box. Jake finds a skeleton key and a message from Peter Pan, which states that the key must be taken to Skull Rock to find out what it will unlock, and the treasure to be found is shiny and bright. Izzy reassures a scared Cubby that finding out what the key unlocks is a fun mystery. Jake wonders what the key could open, and he, Izzy, and Skully tell Cubby that they'll watch out for each other every step of the way before they head to Skull Rock.
Captain Hook assumes that the key might unlock treasure, and he and Mr. Smee follow Jake and his crew. According to Cubby's map, the best way to get to Skull Rock is through Blue Whale Way and the Never Sea Twin Tunnels. Captain Hook then takes the key for himself before taking the Jolly Roger to Skull Rock in search for treasure. Jake and his crew give chase while Captain Hook and Mr. Smee arrive at Blue Whale Way, with Mr. Smee placing the skeleton key on his key ring.
Jake and his crew arrive at Blue Whale Way. There, Bucky throws the balls for the whales to play with, allowing Jake and his crew to make it across. Meanwhile, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee arrive at the Never Sea Twin Tunnels. Captain Hook orders Mr. Smee to sail the Jolly Roger through the smaller tunnel. Unable to see anything in the dark, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee hear Tick-Tock Croc, who chases them out of the Jolly Roger and into a dinghy.
As Mr. Smee rows himself and Captain Hook to safety, Jake and his crew arrive at the Never Sea Twin Tunnels, where they take the big tunnel. As Captain Hook and Mr. Smee exit the tunnel, Mr. Smee tosses everything, including the skeleton key, out of the dinghy to make it lighter. As Tick-Tock Croc chases Captain Hook and Mr. Smee away, Jake and his crew come across the key, which Skully retrieves and gives it to Jake.
With Tick-Tock Croc chasing Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, Jake decides to use the key ring to play a game of fetch with the crocodile, with help from Izzy's Pixie Dust. It works, as Tick-Tock Croc chases the keys and Mr. Smee thanks Jake and his crew for saving him and Captain Hook. Jake then reads Peter Pan's message again before his crew continues to Skull Rock with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee giving chase.
Once at Skull Rock, Jake and his crew come across a door as Captain Hook arrives with the balloons he blew up. He bumps into a seagull and when he tells him to shoo, more seagulls show up and pop the balloons, sending Captain Hook plummeting into the Never Sea with Mr. Smee rescuing him. Meanwhile, Jake and his crew fit the skeleton key into the circle-shaped keyhole, unlocking the door. Jake and his crew head through the door and find themselves in an observatory, which contains giant telescope used to see the stars. They see stars shaped just like Peter Pan, which is why Peter Pan brought Jake and his crew to Skull Rock. Cubby concludes that Skull Rock rocks and is a whole bunch of fun.
Jake and his crew return to Pirate Island to put all the gold doubloons they collected into their Team Treasure Chest. Jake then thanks Peter Pan. Meanwhile, Captain Hook, who has a cold, gets chased away by Tick-Tock Croc, who still has the key ring with Mr. Smee following.
