Plot
Captain Hook and Mama Hook are picking Never berries when Bones and Captain Buzzard arrive. Mama Hook and Captain Buzzard have heard a lot about themselves. As they talk about the Hooks being the first family of Never Land's greatest and boldest buccaneers, a gust of wind blows to and from Skull Rock. Bones knows that sound, as it reminds him that when a cool wind blows from the south and whistles through Skull Rock's mouth, the pirates have to follow the wind to Hidden Valley, which is past the Crescent Moon Lagoon and the Maroon Sand Dune, where they'll find the Doubloon Monsoon.
Jake and Skully then arrive, having been invited by Bones, who tells Jake that the poem was told by Captain Buzzard on pirate camp-outs. Captain Buzzard mentions that the poem gives the locations to the Doubloon Monsoon, which is a whirlwind filled with gold doubloons. It only appears when the wind blows through Skull Rock and makes a whistling sound, which happens once in a long while. Mama Hook plans for her and Captain Hook to find the Doubloon Monsoon together, and Captain Buzzard and Bones plan to do the same first. They all agree to the race, exciting Bones. Jake and Skully decide to go along to make sure the Hooks don't cheat and the Boneses don't get muddled and lost. The race then begins.
During the quest, Mama Hook tells Captain Buzzard to make sure he and Bones are not following the Hooks. Captain Buzzard states that he and Bones are following the wind, and Skully states that it is taking them to Crescent Moon Lagoon. As Captain Buzzard and Mama Hook pass each other, when they come across the bridge, Captain Hook and Mama Hook cross it first, with Captain Hook cutting its back ropes. As Captain Hook and Mama Hook continue forward while not looking back, which is the first rule of racing, Jake, Bones, Captain Buzzard, and Skully use their part of the bridge to float to the other side.
Up next is the Maroon Sand Dune. There, Captain Hook is sinking in its sands, and Skully knows that the Hooks cheat. Mama Hook tells Captain Hook that they do not need to cheat to win. Jake uses a vine as a lasso to pull Captain Hook to safety, with help from the others. Later, they walk across the sand by using leaves. Captain Buzzard claims that he can beat the Hook in his sleep. Skully spots Hidden Valley ahead, and the wind goes into its crater, where the Doubloon Monsoon appears. Bones wonders who won the race, since they all saw it at once. Captain Hook claims that the winner is the first team to pluck out a doubloon, to Bones and Mama Hook's dismay.
As Captain Hook and Bones grab a doubloon, the whirlwind sucks them inside. Captain Buzzard tells Mama Hook to stop feuding and work together to save Captain Hook and Bones. Jake comes up with an idea for him, Captain Buzzard, and Mama Hook to make a human chain with a tree for an anchor to save Captain Hook and Bones, and it works. Skully declares that the result of the race is a tie. Captain Buzzard thanks Jake for the help and thinks of Mama Hook as a first-class sea hand. The whirlwind then dissipates, causing its doubloons to scatter all over the place. Captain Hook decides to gather all of the doubloons, although Captain Buzzard tells him that there are plenty more treasures out there waiting to be found.
Back on Pirate Island, Jake and his crew put all the gold doubloons a mini Doubloon Monsoon that followed them left into their Team Treasure Chest. Meanwhile, as Captain Hook gathers all of the doubloons, the wind causes them to form the Doubloon Monsoon again, and it swirls away with Captain Hook giving chase.
