- “Uh, but, Cap'n, this isn't just any river, this is Slippery Snake River.”
- ―Mr. Smee
Slippery Snake River is a location on Never Land featured in the Disney Junior animated series, Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Those who venture through Slippery Snake River must be wary as the river is home to various snakes.
Role in the series[]
Slippery Snake River makes its first appearance in the episode "The Never Night Star". After overhearing Jake and his crew searching for the legendary City of Gold, Captain Hook decides to claim the treasure for himself as he and his crew gain a huge lead to the treasure. But the only thing standing in his way was Slippery Snake River, revealing Hook's fear of snakes. But the greedy captain muscles up enough courage to cross the wooden log like a bridge to the other side. To assure he keeps his lead over the young pirates, Hook kicks the log into the river, but as Hook gloats, two snakes slither out of the river due to Hook's action, causing Hook and his scurvy band to flee deeper into the jungle. Once Jake and his friends reach the river, they were briefly puzzled on how to get across. But soon, they spot a large palm tree hang over the river, allowing the young pirates to cross to the other side.
