The Basketball is one of Jake and his crew earlier treasures featured in the Disney Junior animated series, Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
Role in the series[]
The Basketball first appeared in the episode "Basketballs Aweigh!". Jake and his crew were enjoying playing with the basketball inside the Hideout,Cubby was finding a little difficult making a basket,Izzy tries raising his spirits by sprinkling a little bit of her pixie dust allowing Cubby to make the shot however the Basketball manage to slip past the young pirates and out of the waterfall in Bucky's Grotto onto Pirate Island beach when Captain Hook found the ball and wouldn't give it back but then he drops it into the water and it floats out to sea. Captain Hook and Mr. Smee set out to look for it and so do Jake and his crew. Jake and his crew find it first and Bucky scoops it up with his coconut grabber. Captain Hook then climbs aboard and steals the Basket Ball again but loses it again. It washes up on shore and Jake and his crew find a Basketball Court. Captain Hook challenge Jake and his crew of a game of Basketball and who ever wins the game gets to keep the ball. Jake's crew win the game and they get to keep the Basketball.
The Basketball makes a brief cameo appearance in the episode"Bucky Makes a Splash" it can be seen as Jake and his crew sneak back aboard Bucky on a rafter inside his cabin.The Basketball reappears in the episode "The Elephant Surprise!",it was among the various toys Captain Hook and Smee steal using the wooden elephant to sneak into Jake and his crew Treasure Room on Pirate Island.
The Basketball reappears in the episode "Treasure Show and Tell!",as the various treasures Jake and his crew offered to Captain Hook's treasure chest for Treasure Show and Tell Day.
The Basketball reappears in the episode "Little Stinkers",Jake and his crew were playing a quick game of basketball when they detected the putrid smell of a Never Land Skunk Bug on Pirate Island.
Video games[]
The Basketball appears in the "Jake's Never Land Pirate School App." It can be spotted during the Map & Spyglass segment.The players learn to navigate Never Land with Cubby and then use the spyglass to find exciting treasures with Jake.
